what we are going to see is the next big money spinner. Capturing the success of COD and WoW combined. It opening up a whole you audience from both genres. It's in developers heads already just going to take someone hitting the right note. Blizzard maybe?
"Within the game proper, Jones said they know that players “don’t want to work hard, they don’t want to read, and they don’t’ want to go to the Internet to figure out our bullshit.” In other words, they understand that what they’re making is escapist entertainment.
“This has led us to a huge investment in [user interface],” Jones explained. Clearly, Bungie has a story to tell and information to convey, but they don’t want to bog you down with any of it."
This smacks heavily of Nancy MacIntyre when the NGE went down. Its a load of crap.
I believe players are willing to work hard. They just want that work to mean something.
Not- Kill X amount of Y to get some BOP/BOU/SB shiney that you will soon out-level, then doing that same thing over and over again for 50+ Levels till you hit Max only to now Raid/PvP for more shineys!
I also believe they dont mind reading, but again they want what they read to mean something.
Not some long winded diatrible about how you "Desperately Need Help" and "Im the only one to do it" only to be sent across the road to kill 30 Killer Kows to collect 15 Pristine Udders. Then hear more long winded diatribe about how "I must" kill the King Kamehameha Kow so I can recieve the Pristine Udder Codpiece , 12,000 Experience Points and 2 points Realm Favor

I think Bungie guys know how to make games 10000x better than you do.
"Mean something"? "Working hard in a video game"? ... well .. video games don't mean anything. It is an illusion.
I don't think anyone want to work hard in a video game. They just want the illusion of that. Trying 3 times is working hard. Spending 2 hours is working hard. Anything else is too much real life .. and i don't need a game for.
