According to EA, this was intentional, but according to EA's lawyer, they are being robbed?  What in the actual fuck?!  Like, these statements completely conflict with each other!

That's not EA's lawyer, and the title of this thread is completely misleading. The woman making the comments about theft is just some independent intellectual property expert, she doesn't represent EA in any way. She's simply talking about hypothetical legal ramifications in scenarios like this.

I'm not an EA fan at all personally, but this thread is misguided. EA never said they felt like they were being robbed. In fact, they said the game was intentionally designed this way so that players could farm these items instead of buying them via micro-transactions. Reading comprehension must be at some sort of all time low.

Well, I think it's a combination of poor reading comprehension and pure laziness.  But really, TV has struck a hard blow to reading comprehension.  I mean, why read when you can just watch it happen without so much as turning a single page?

    Piracy is one thing.

    Exploting is another.

Personally I really dont care because EA is ripping players off with micro transactions, as DeadSpace 3 is mostly singleplayer or CoOp there is nothing wrong with hacking the game to add currency or exploit it. However if multiplayer is done through their servers they could ban players of course for online mode in that case you just dont have to play online or on their server I would assume.

However if its through gamespy for example I doubt anyone would get banned.

Exploting Single Player or CoOp games not my problem, Don't like exploiters just don't play with them.

Now if it was hacking a multiplayer game, aimbotting, or something that would actually destroy the game for everyone then I would have a problem people will debate me but Micro Transactions were not needed in DS3 EA got Greedy they got what they deserved.

So, you just read the thread title, clicked reply, and went to town on the ole' keyboard without reading the thread? Admit it! The last 10 posts or so have completely debunked the claims that the OP was making.

    Definition of CAPITALISM

: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market.

Yes.. That is the way it works.. So if they want you to pay for those weapon upgrades, then they will charge you for those weapon upgrades..

We all agree that should it benefit us as individuals, we would probably do the same exact thing.. To someone somewhere this makes perfect sense..

P.S. No, I am not a fan of it.. Nor am I a fan of Socialism, Obamanism etc for all those who see the world in black and white or 2 polars..

Also, I forgot to mention it's Day 1 on-disc DLC unlocks apparently. (Or rather, obviously.)

Now that's fraud, making you pay for something you have already purchased, you own the disc with all the relevant 1s and 0s

This is the same thing that popped up when ME3 came out.  The protean day one DLC was actually already on the disk, but EA made you pay for (after you already paid $60).  So I can't say I'm surprised that EA is doing it again, they care more about money than they do their customers or their games.
