Question--naming conventions.

I didn't play v1, but what is the format when picking your character name in the reboot? Single-word name? First and last name? More? Thanks.

Now we're calling prostitutes "sex workers". What's next? Calling hit men "end-of-life technicians"?

You needed a first and a Surname for the original.

You will need a first and last name.

As for naming conventions, Like for a race?

    Try here: http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=152&mid=1277609196122041793&h=50

Like Elezen usually sound like they put a little french in them:  Louisoix

Lalafell seem to be sorta rhym like: Gigiya, Nanaka

Miqote like excessive consonants and appostrphy: T 'kebbe

    etc etc.

On the other hand I also see a lot of people using the naming conventions from FFXI too, wich are slightly different in some cases, but majorly as with Galka vs Roeg. Roegs seem almost germanic or maybe norse? But Galka were all like Native American names such as Dancing Wolf.
