Im looking for the proper definition of a troll....cuz today i got a temp ban from mmorpg for being one cuz i simply posted that "a certain game sucks". Now how do ppl know who a troll is or what? is a troll sumoen who posts negative replys? Woudnt that just be someone who dosnt liek that certain thing? HOW CAN MMORPG.COM choose what is a troll post or not or anyone in that manner?

A true troll is someone who causes damage like the "Basic Laws of Human Stupidity" say:
1) Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
2) The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
3) A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
(This is essentially the answer, what IS a Troll.)

4) Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

Example: "Game X sucks." is not a legitimate comment. "Game X sucks, because..." is acceptable.

Feel free to express negative points of view about whatever you want, but simply posting X sucks just looks like youre trying to rile up other users and doesn't add anything to the discussion. Jumping into a thread about a game just to say the game sucks is pretty pointless. Participate meaningfully in the discussion and treat your fellow forum users with civility and respect in the process and you'll do just fine here!
