lol...that's funny. XD But I think I prefer killing nstead of being healed. haha...

Thats' the reason why I choose warrior or vampire as my class. It's seems that necromancer that have the physical attack and magical attack. lol...out of my expection. Can't believe if it turn out to be true?

Jedi - using a 2 handed lightsaber. Master Lightsaber/Master Powers. For the looks. All about looks.

I dont have a clear favorite. I basically play everything. I dont like Rogues, Ranger and Druids much, though. Stealth is slow, ranged is boring and natural spells are kind of, I dunno, just not what I like. I kind of like the raw, real, direct deal. Complexity is very welcome, if not required.

    Classes I remember especially fondly:

    - Lineage 2 Tyrant - My favorite L2 class, the orc warrior monk. Very challenging solo, but that was part of the fun. With buffs it turned killer machine, though. And stuff like runspeed selfbuffs didnt lowered the fun at all. The L2 Rogue, the Treasure Hunter, is btw totally OP. Even better dps than Tyrant, better defense than Tyrant, a ***load of crowd control (they are kind of the CC class of L2), and backstab and stealth on top of it. I once tried them on a high xp freeshard and was kind of shocked about it. On top of that, the top gear for Rogues are much easier to get than for Tyrant.

    - Lineage 2 Shillien Elder - The Darkelf healer. Was definitely a favorite, first time I mentioned I like playing healer. Though I hated how I was completely dependend upon getting a group. At level 70+ in good gear I was killed by gray mobs that wouldnt give xp or items if I had managed to kill them. One of these free servers offered relief, there SEs got summons and stronger spells vs undead. Summon didnt work though, was incredibly ugly, and getting the needed crystals was close to impossible, too. Besides, SE was definitely the coolest of the healer classes. Shaman wasnt too bad either, though.

    - Lineage 2 Necromancer - I only tried them once on one of these high-xp free servers and this class is just OP, especially in PvP. Very fun abilities, too. The L2 Spellhowler is more stylish, though.

    - Guild Wars Mesmer - I loved the concept of this class. Unfortunately, in practical play, it was just another primitive GW 8 button triviality. Yawn.

    - Vanguard Blood Mage - A healer who also is a mage. Limited in some ways, and one of the tougher healer classes to solo (healers are soloing gods in Vanguard, but the Blood Mage cant handle multiple opponents well and has to "tank" the mob, lifetapping their health back while receiving massive damage in direct combat), but with amazing tools and surprising abilities.

    - Vanguard Dread Knight - The most interesting of the tanks, with quite some trickery, while Paladin and Warrior are kind of boring. Possibly the best non-healer solist, especially with their ability to lifetap groups of opponents.

    - Vanguard Disciple - The monk version of healers, and Vanguards version of the Godmode. Even if you took a too tough challenge, you still stood a good chance with your Feighn Death skill to still survive it.

    - Vanguard Necromancer - Not as fun as the L2 version, since they lack this game with health and their lifetap abilities are rather laughable in comparison - but definitely amazingly complex, refined, and powerful, and the summon is extremely much more interesting.

Vanguard: Disciple - Self healing, able-to-do-everything-good solo god!

WoW: Vanilla paladin - Nostalgia factor, underdog and pretty awesome overall. Nobody expects the cloth healing paladin!

LOTRO: Lore-master - Jack of all trades, pets and frigging dualwielding sword and staff. Also lightning.

LOTRO: Captain - The "save the day"-class over everything else. A godsend to every group and party. Makes you want to yell "ELENDIIIL!" at your screen.

I think I would have to say this.  They had a deceptive amount of utility in the rght hands as well.

Reallyliked the EQ1 Ranger as well.  EQs class and race restrictions added a lot of character to the game, our Karana rangers were always verbally warring with the Tunare rangers.  Fun times.

Feral druid in WoW is up there for me as well.

Stealth archer/fencer in UO and Item Archer (item enchantment magic and bow) in Asheron's Call.

Have to go with a 'mage' or some type.

I always roll a 'glass cannon' type char first and then something else.

I've always been the biggest fan of the Sword and Shield archetype - Knights, Warriors, Paladins, etc. and I'd really, really love one day if an MMO made a Guardian/Defender type class like this that had options to be an offensive powerhouse instead of just always a "tank" type defensive character.

Some MMO just needs to make a Spartan class and I'll never play anything else again.

There was a very brief period in WoW where a Protection Warrior could dish out good damage in PvP and it was THE most fun I've had PvP'ing in a long, long time. Taking people out with massive Shield Slam crits after a plethora of stuns (Conc blow, Shockwave, etc.) was... fantastic.

I agree, there's no reason why a sword + shield user couldn't be considered a dps class. Both the sword and shield can be used as a weapon. Afterall, in some games tanks use dual-wield weapons and 2-handers

my favorite class of all time and i played a lot of different mmo´s was

    Anarchy Online:  Fixer

it was i guess the second MMO i really got into, and i chose a Fixer Girl in AO because it looked cool to me. I had no idea how to play a Fixer and i had a lot to learn , and eventually i had to reroll my char because skilling wasnt that easy in AO.

But after a while i had a lot of fun with my Fixer. It was good for soloing, and was also wanted in group playing. The Fixer gave everyone HoTs (Heal over times). It was also the fastest char in AO , the Fixer gave everyone Speed Buffs.

It was fun to get some Fixer gear in AO, and when i got my "Grid Armor" the first time a little dream came true. Suddenly i had this cool char who can transform herself in a fluid being with very good Evasion skills. Even with my moderate amount of hit points i was wanted in a lot of groups as Tank, because the enemys just wont hit me. not only the big guys can tank ^^

and i liked also the range attack with the blasters.

so, i have very good memories from that time with my Fixer

    with Grid Armor:

I like classes which reward good gameplay so Disciple from Vanguard, Mesmer from GW1 / GW2, Illusionist from EQ2 (before it got dumbed down) and Bard from EQ1.

Full agreement here. Best class I have played thus far.

In other games, I like a nature based pet class like the Hunter in WoW or Ranger in GW2.

I also had a great time in WoW with my form shifting Druid.

My Storm Controlling/Electricity defender in City of Heroes was great fun, too.

All of those paled in comparison to my EQ Bard, though :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

But did EQ Bards have to "twist?"

EQ Bards is where twisting originated. At least from 1998-2002. Bards are my second favorite class in EQ. My first of all time is EQs Necromancer. Nothing more fun than fear, engulfing darkness, a couple of DOT.s and a  truly evil laughing skeleton pounding on the enemy while it runs in fear!

any type of Bard class, but particularly in Vanguard: Saga of Heros

    then Swashbuckler in EQ2

    followed by Paladin in WoW

and Druid in Vanguard and WoW, but both are entirely different play styles. in VG Druids are nuke specialists, while of course the shape changing in WoW and general utility is great.

    Mesmer in GW1 and GW2
