GW1 isn't a MMO. GW2 is a MMO, but that kind of combat mechanics been proven to get boring fast in a MMO settings.
Poor choice of words.
SInce you said prove I'd like to see a peer-reviewed citation on the subject of just how quickly such mechanics get "boring fast".
Honestly MW3 has probably been the biggest online game played, and just how many buttons does it use?
League of Legends has been around for awhile and is growing. How many skill bars are used?
Honestly even look at EVE...
How about World of Warcraft? This scheme came about and is growing because most World of Warcraft macros / mods were crafted to make 90% of the game play actually happen on the 1 2 3 4 5 6 keys.
Unless you have some sort of evidence to the contrary I dare say you sir are guilty of slanderous hyperbole.
