Hi everyobdy,

Has anyone noticed? Soon the MMORPG market will need a replacement for WoW.. Let's not miss this chance! I am actually NOT suggesting to brainstorm on the future game mechanics ->This kind of project will probably mean that we'll have to create a self-maid game engine, so this should be our first priority.

What we should be looking for:

-IA specialist

-Networking (TCP/UDP) specialist

-Computer graphics specialist (I would personally like to apply on this job -> I'm a Master Degree student in Computer graphics)

-Physics specialist

-Junior and Senior programmers

-Team leaders

-Anyone with knowledge about scene graphs and OpenGL.

If you see yourself fit any of these jobs and is interested by the idea of creating a game engine, please leave your resume underneath :)

Cheers,

MasterSim

EDIT:

Feel free to add your idea/oppinions.. I'll add them underneath:

-Possibility of an OpenSource project

-This game engine could be part of the http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/366934/page/1 project

Honestly, I'm kind of hoping for an all out World War between old and new MMOs (metaphorically speaking; I don't want a real World War over this, because that would just be stupid on a hundred different levels), forcing competition between MMOs so that the developers don't get stuck in the "WE MUST BE WOW 2.0 and MAKE MILLIONS IN 3 SECONDS" rut the MMO genre seems to have been stuck in for the past decadeish or so.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

While I don't like the game (no hate either, it's just not my kind of game), I am realistic and I am quite sure we are going to have WoW around for many years more. Maybe not with 14 million players, but I am sure that it will still have several million players going on by 2020.

They will most likely create a new game using the same game engine.. but that game engine is getting old now. I keep hopes :)
