I don't know what your standards are, but I play MMOs mostly for the combat and GW2 is the best I've tried in years. Tera was supposed to blow everyone away with its combat but it felt like Vindictus, cool at first and boring after 10 minutes. The amount of damage the enemies do keeps you on the move, and that's the best part.
The combat can be fun, but the combat system is very simplistic. So if your looking for depth (OP) then you won't find it, and its why some say it's boring. It's also true that it's extremely spammy. That's not to say it doesn't fit the game or spoil it.
I'd like it to be a bit less spammy, but if it were complex I think it would be more of a distraction from the gameplay. It's nowhere near the best combat system around, but it suits the gameplay.
