So I'm confused, does GW2 have "dungeons"?

Why does it have to be instanced? The best dungeons are noninstanced.

It sounds like you want Diablo.

I'm not sure I agree abou the best dungeons being noninstanced.  I've seen good and bad with both.  The problem with noninstanced dungeons is usually the competition for the dungeon objectives.  Can be a pain if there are a lot of ppl playing it.

    Only if they're poorly designed.

In before dynamic events are group events arguments.

I don't mind dynamic events, but yeah they obviously aren't the same kind of experience.  Way too short, very little real cooperation needed at low levels.  It would be much better if it would show a scoreboard at the end like in WAR so I could see where I ranked in dps, or healing, or tanking, or completing objective of the event.

You know you just made PQs seem somewhat superior to the all mighty DE.... Even though they are busy playing GW2 you might want to watch what you say. They still bite.

Anyways You get a gold, silver, or bronze rating at least though its pretty much always gold.... unles you show up as the event is 3/4 finished.

The major difference is that in WAR's PQs you competed against other players. In GW2 you work with other players. That's why there is no score, only a rating for your participation in the event.

And honestly, you would have to be absolutely delirious to even for a second consider PQs superior to DEs. They aren't even in the class.

Keep hating though. It's a bit sad but mostly funny.

non instanced dungeons are far superior to instanced for multiple reasons.

no lobby end game, no rush to end game content, no holy trinity.

adding this to my list of things i don't miss from other games.

Maybe I'm just too low to see how awesome DE's are, but they aren't much more involved or interesting than PQs were from WAR.  I don't care if they are though, because I like them either way.  It's just that so far in GW2 you are a nameless face among the masses in everything you do.  No reason to group yet, and DEs are you and some other 'whatshisnames'.

You have to think a bit differently about DEs. They aren't so much as quests, like PQs but things that happen as you explore the world. So as you're running around, you may see a village being attacked or a carvan that needs to be escorted. The big difference is that these events happen whether you're present or not.

Another thing is that if you follow certain NPCs, it leads to more DEs that continue the story of the zone. I'll give you an example. In Metrica Province, there is a camp of refugees that get attacked by the Inquest (bad guys). If successfully defend the camp, a few of the NPCs will start a conversation where they decide to go on the offensive. Now this is not a DE. This is just a few NPCs chatting with each other. Then they start running towards the Inquest base. The game still doesn't tell you that it's a DE so if that what you're looking for, you'll miss the next part. However, if you actually follow these NPCs, it leads to a DE.

This is where I feel that a lot of people fail to grasp how GW2 works. If you're just going to run around looking for "there is an event nearby" message, you're doing it wrong. You need to pay attention to the NPCs and what they do in order to get the full feel. If you're just going to run from one heart to another, you're playing this game wrong.
