Guild Wars 2: One Hour Stress Test TODAY

The Guild Wars 2 Twitter has been updated with the news that there will be a one hour stress test in about 90 minutes from the time of this writing. The stress test is open to anyone who pre-purchased Guild Wars 2.

 We will be conducting a Stress Test TODAY from 1:00 PM PDT to 2:00 PM PDT.



We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover features that are not working as designed.



Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch.



By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game.



Please note:



* The Stress Test is open to anyone who has pre-PURCHASED Guild Wars 2.

* You will not be able to purchase gems.



Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!

    Apparantly, last 1 hour test (which they only gave a 10 minute notice for) had the entire game unlocked. This might be the case again here with this test. They're probably making sure the 'going live' switch is working for everything and everyone.

    You can spend an hour easy, just *looking around* Divinity’s Reach.  It's insane.

    A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

    If only the password recovery would work. I can't recover my password, always comes up with errors :S

    I'm done with stress tests - bring on tomorrow night!

    I think the stress test the other day was just to get a whole bunch of people's e-mails registered so it wouldn't bog down on pre-launch day, which is brilliant because the issues people had the other day can be ignored cause "it was just a stress test"

    I bet with last night and tonight they are:

    1- testing "go live" switch.

    2- testing how many people respond to social media messages ("test in 10 mins", "test in 1 hour" etc.)

     

    As long as it makes Friday 12-3am (sometime) EST smooth, keep it up!

    That's what I keep telling myself, and every time they announce a Stress test I can't help but play... does that make me weak?

    At this point it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they had a stress test and hour before launch.

    Yes, but will it be labeled as an "unbiased review"?

    I can't wait.

    "Loading screens" are not "instances".
    Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.

    last stress test i logged in and saw my CE items-was able to use em too!-i wonder if they are planning on not wiping the characters as a beta reward!..hmmmm.

    and also managed to buy gems to get the cool armor they have in the shop =to support the shop!!!

    I agree completely with this.  A lot of times in software testing, things are broken or disabled ON PURPOSE to test other systems.  if you ask me, this ANet has been doing some of the most active testing I've seen from any game company.
