Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.
I would expect the population to take a temporary dip when MoP releases for a few months. Since GW2 is B2P, people can freely take breaks to play other games and not feel they are missing out as thier subscription slowly expires. But if the game is fun, they will return.
I don't think GW2 will be "dead" for many many years. But I'm sure the negative nannies will claim the game is dying on the first dip.
GW2 is dead. It has almost no population!

It will be almost impossible to tell when GW2 is dead because there are no subs. Its much easier in games like WoW and TOR to tell if the population is declining by looking at sub numbers. I haven't played GW1 in almost 2 years yet am I still considered a "subscirber"??? Besides, most people will be willing to put up with whatever shit sandwich a f2p or b2p game throws at them over a p2p game simply because theres no money invloved.

Within the first month you will get posts saying the game is dying and everyone is leaving just like every other game to date.....
If you have been outside... you know that there are poeple who are pessimists and try to bash on everything they can manage.
That being said, I THINK that people saying that this game is already dead and/or will be dead soon, are just trying to be smart-ass.
Just think about it. If the game is a success then that person bashing the game will be quickly forgotten, BUT IF the game fails to deliver they can use the "I told you so..." argument.
They are stepping on a win-win situation, since they win either wayy
IF the game is a success:
TROLL: Quickly forgotten, plays the game either way.
IF the game is a failure:
TROLL: "I told you so...", "First!" arguments, and search for another game to bash on to...

The crying started two months ago already. This forum is full of complaints about this overhyped same-old-stuff-no-open-pvp-no-item-progression-not-dynamic-boring-themepark-pay-to-win-ugly-graphics-stupid-combat-MMO. If somebody would take all those trolls seriously, he or she would think this game going to be the biggest failure in MMO-history.
I mean, I remember Vanguard and Warhammer online during beta. There were some negative threads, but even those were more like a warning "delay the release, this game has potiential, but still needs some work!". The response to GW2 is completely different - full of hate, crazy assumptions and false facts.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need.

some of the best pvp games had "instanced" pvp. and it TOTALLY worked.

the only chance for open pvp to work is open pvp being the only thing to do.

TY for getting this thread back on track. I agree 100 percent this is the main reason why I made this thread. Is to let people know that I can not stand all of these people who bash whatever MMO game they hate saying that it is dead. So I decided to start a new thread in GW2 for obvious reasons knowing the kind of community we have at mmorpg a very jaded community. To experiment to conclude how sad people are that they have nothing else better to do then to start threads stating how this MMO or that MMO is a fail because of whatever reason.
I don't know about you but I wish people will get a clue and be positive for once about a game after all it is just a game.
Oh on a side note I admit that I could use better words myself. With that being said I put out the challenge for others to do the same.
And ty to the lively debates and thoughts some had for this game in general. I know for a fact that GW2 will be around for years to come. I hope all who play it many years of enjoyment.

How many subs will GW2 have herpaderp. EVE is a financial success, GW2 likely will be as well.
But to answer you, yes, seriously, it works in EVE, to the point where they grow in subs every year, something even WoW can't claim.
