The reason this thread went downhill was because no one would believe you if you say someone in relation someone you know's family member etc works at areanet. Developers never reveal info like this.

All indicators point towards August / September.

To be quite frank, the game is in a very good spot as is. Many players are starting to get tired w/ beta weekends and want an actual, released game. They are going to release it this year, so December wouldn't be the earliest, it would be the latest. Also releasing it in December would probably look to some people as a 'gotchya' gag.

Also, if they push the release much passed August, people are going to expect to see at least 1, if not both of the missing races. There's a lot of speculation that we will be seeing the Asuran race next BWE. We'll see.

I wouldn't worry too much about the game being rushed. They are doing a lot with the time they've had, and the game is looking good. An August / September release is still 2-3 months out, meaning 1-2 more BWEs. That's a pretty good number, and I think most people will be happy w/ that. It's definitely enough time to address the issues that have been brought up by the community.

Also, keep in mind that Anet isn't a company that releases & forgets. Expect to see a lot of ongoing tweaks after launch (and not just to content). GW1 they were constantly dealing w/ balancing, bug issues, and tweaks every few weeks after launch. They really do stay on top of things over there.

Assuming what you say is true, did it ever cross your mind that your uncle told you things in confidence and that his job is on the line if someone finds out it was he who leaked? Either you are careless and inconsiderate or you are lying. 

 

Edit: Seeing how the "ME, LOOK AT ME" generation behaves and how it has affected the rest of society, I am not surprised by either of the scenarios.

ummm two of my really close friends do work directly on GW2 and i can tell you that even the lead devs do NOT know a release date or have a goal as that is NOT up to arena net its up to NCsoft. Either your Uncle is lying or you are so why post this sort of crap and not expect to get ridiculed? Dont you think I havent bugged the crap out of them for a release date? Trust me they do not even know yet.

What indicators? It's late June already and release date haven't been announced yet. So August is highly unlikely.

December is more likely and I wouldn't rule out the possibility of 2013+ release.
