I think you put too much effort into the game. One jump? that was oone thorough gameplay session. Must be exhausting.

Lmao comedic! Guy spends 50 minutes fucking with the placeholder CC logs in to game, press space bar twice, takes a minute to comprehend what just happened, logged out and resumed porn-surfing... we got a winner here fellas!

I actually loved that post. Something new to the genre, with an unique and different setting (which seems to get better and deeper and more complex the more i play) who will attract a different crowd is exactly what i was looking for. The fact that some of the people involved actually worked on some projects which i love (The Longest Journey, Anarchy Online) makes me even more confident that they know what they're doing.

No matter how low the pop number will end up being, i'm almost sure that we won't have the usual "modern" MMO crowd. It's worth playing even just for that.

Very much agreed! That alone is huge.

Yup, I'm almost hoping they won't change that jumping animation...

I think scores of 70 or lower with 3.5 out of 5 stars will be the best this game rates.  I know some of you are huge fans of the puzzles and story but it didnt hold die-hard Star Wars fans and it wont hold you 90 to 180 days past launch.  The game really needs another year of polish, the animations and combat are horribad and not what I would expect in a game launched in 2012 for the AAA box price of $60 and a regular $15 a month sub fee.

Dont get me wrong, I dont hate the game and dont think it will die.  I just think that like AoC it is being pushed out too quickly and will not gain the popularity it could have.  I'll be back in 3 to 6 months when a few patches have been applied so I can play a more polished game.  By then the box price will be around $30 or less and I can take my savings and pay for a few months sub and finish the entire story line for a total price I feel that is in line with the quality of the game.

    You are correct.

If I wanted Dragon Ball Z animations and Japanese anime, I'd grap my kids old Gameboy.

I actually enjoy it, and I'm looking forward to exploring the other interesting places they have created.  My only main complaints at his point are:

    1)  They need to go darker and more 'horror' with the world.  The world is generally very nice, and they could accomplish this in a lot of areas by turning the ambient light down, adding some more fog, more sounds, etc.  It seems like they went for this adult title, but then made it a little more 'safe' than needed be.

    2) Combat still needs some polish, and that includes fleshing out the animations a bit more.  I don't think combat and animations are nearly as bad as some people are saying here, but they could be polished for sure.

    3) The game should learn more towards allowing the players to make and become content. More RP elements, more customization, etc.

    4) I think they should seriously consider having some faction world PvP servers instead of making most of the game PvE.  Again, this is an adult crowd and some of us like the additional emmerision we get from having to look over our shoulders, and/or being aggressors.

In a nutshell, I think it's a little too candy coated for a title targeted to an older crowd, not kids.

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
