Guild Wars 2 and Google+

So... I think GW2 will be like google+ when it came out and WoW like Facebook: it will still be the preferred between most users (gamers). Just comparing the situations... What do you think?

To answer your question, I don't know and I don't care. I'll be playing the game.

I don't even know why I come here anymore. I can't wait til GW2 comes out so I won't have to read forums anymore because I'm so sick of the haters.

No, TOR was Google+. It tried to copy the most popular thing almost exactly, and was counting exclusively on its branding to keep it afloat.

Second: i'm not a hater. I will play the game i think it's really fun and innovative. I just wanted to know the reaction.

Your analogy doesn't work though.

G+ and FB are both social networking websites, which are free to use.

GW2 is buy2play, WoW is both buy2play & pay2play.

DIfferent audiences, and different business models.

if i may counter with my own analogy.

 

i see GW2 as more of a giant arctic land squid whereas, WOW would probably be more of an untrustworthy overarticulated garden gnome.

I am pretty sure GW2 is some sort of mountainous jungle squid.

     This thread has taught me something. GW2 may not kill WoW or SWTOR or any other mmo, but it will kill mmorpg's traffic. At least it will when it launches. The haters will suddenly have no one to hate to except each other and everyone else will be in GW2 and possibly never return here again. Seems that everyone is so bored here with everything else, that they spend all thier time here entertaining threads.... like this one.

Actually, GW2 will be something like a large porno site. People will look each other and will instantly recognize the others 'in the know'. And, while some people may say otherwise, everyone goes to porn sites, one time or the other.

Right? RIGHT?

PS: I'd pay in platinum for some Asura lapdancing.

Probably the best analogy on this site for quite a while.

And I agree with whoever said that SWTOR is kinda Google+ compared to WoW/Facebook.
