D3's problem is BNet Chat

KonfessKonfess Member RarePosts: 1,667

The number one problem with Diablo 3 is Battlenet chat size.  Here is a story I came across when looking for images of D2's BNet chat client.  Diablo 3′s Chat Channels, Problems and Solutions.

Pardon any spelling errors
Konfess your cyns and some maybe forgiven
Boy: Why can't I talk to Him?
Mom: We don't talk to Priests.
As if it could exist, without being payed for.
F2P means you get what you paid for. Pay nothing, get nothing.
Even telemarketers wouldn't think that.
It costs money to play.  Therefore P2W.

The D3 chat channel is absolutely terrible. It's a community crusher.

I wrote a thread on this very matter. I did happen to read a developer's response to the issue: "Only a small part of D3 players care for such a feature."

I have no idea why Blizzard has such a vendetta against its former self.

"Only a small part of D3 players care for such a feature."  That's the kind of response you get from businessmen who don't even use their companies products.  Socialization is the foundation, that Blizzard is built up.  And Battlenet chat is that very foundation.

Who knows. May be they are right.

I don't care. D3 is a ARPG with co-op features. I may want to play with a few friends. But chat? I wouldn't care less. If i want to chat, i go on MSN. Why would i want to chat when i am mowing down mobs?

The chat size is WAY too small. Its like really bad on my eyes to try and see without placing your face on the screen. I'm talking in game while playing...

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

I truly hate new chat model in Bnet 2.0

BUT it is pure WIN for Blizzard

    No concerns about bots

    No concerns about moderations

    No concerns about spam

Less players using Trade/LFG more money form AH taxes

and I think there is more...

I have my fears so they don't have me.

Either way if there is no reason to trade outside of the AH then ya the lobby chat is for the most part useless. Blame all of the voice servers running around these days. People don't want to type anymore they wanna talk and kill.

Nothing wrong with wanting to talk & kill.

Talking is 1000x more efficient than typing. In the heat of the battle, voice >>> text chat. There is a REASON why voicce servers are so popular.
