Knowing EA, will this be their next, inevitable step?

This wouldnt surprise me.... AT ALL.

EA are dumb enough to think that this might work. If you look at his CV(Resume) it would be quite impressive, but we all know that he hasnt got a clue. Problem is, how many people at EA have ever looked at a gaming forum.....EVER. Especially the people with the power to hire and fire.

They will do what all previous MMO companies did: deny there is any issue until it is too late to make a change.

Concidering they already said they only need 500K subscribers to make a decent profit at their current staffing and they started out with around 2 million sales, I don't think they will have much of a problem maintaining the subs they need to keep this game up.  Of course all the "tinfoil hat" crowd on these forums will disagree with me and the "I hate all new MMOs" will gladly jump on board with them just for a chance to bash another game, but the realistic people will sit back and smile knowing the truth.

I think they need to be able to maintain 500K subs for a loooooooong time before turning a profit. The way things are looking now, a few months from now, maintaining 500K subscribers will be quite the achievement. Lots of people bought 2, 3 and 6 month gamecards thinking it was a sound investment. In truth, most of those people have already left, and EA knows it. They're in trouble and in that article they say their ambitions are higher than being the distant second to WoW in MMO-country. That's a really good one, being ambitious that is. Of course they should deliver first.

I was going to say Tom Chilton but he only destroys games that are good. But Greg Street is a good runner up, Maybe Howard Marks or how about Cesar Jacquet.
