How is the game doing in Europe?

in Pirates of the Burning Sea

I saw a post about SOE putting up region locks..

is there any point in joining POTBS if I'm from Europe? Also, is the game pay to win at all?

    Currently there are 2 servers, "Antigua", and "Roberts". "Roberts" is the EU server. I was recently on Roberts and it is well populated, and active. To my knowledge there is notihng in the in item shop (other than pets or clothing things) that one can't get in game. So, no pay to win at all. So, I wold say yes, check it out and see. Try to get in to an active Society (guild), you will have much more fun that way.

    I was about to buy a sub when I noticed, you can buy ships in the cash shop ._. think I'll avoid it :/ bleh

    The ships in the shop are the same ships you can buy from other players or build.
