The point of the game

It's the combat.  You don't tab target, but swing or shoot in a particular direction and hit whatever happens to be there (possibly nothing).  Mobs don't target you either, but attack a particular area.  If you get out of the way, then you don't take damage.

You can also block, and don't take damage from attacks that you block, but your shield does have limited health.  Your shield's health does regenerate as time passes.  The idea is that you're supposed to dodge most attacks, and block the few that you don't manage to dodge.

If you try to play the game like a typical MMORPG where you trade hits with mobs, then you've completely missed the point of the game.  You're not supposed to get hit.  At all.  Now, you probably do actually get hit some now and then, simply because you're not perfect.  You might be able to get away with trading hits some in tier 1, but you won't get far in tier 2 that way.  By tier 3, you'll typically die in about three or four hits.

Getting better at the game is mostly about improving your own skills.  More to the point, it's about learning to fight more types of mobs in more varied terrain and in deeper tiers, and kill them without getting hit.  Gear does help a bit, but having the skills to only get hit half as often as before makes a bigger difference than upgrading all of your gear from the minimum needed to enter your current tier all the way to perfect five star gear.

Hopefully this is all pretty obvious after you play the game for a bit.  But this site's official review of the game somehow managed to completely miss the point of the entire game.  So I thought I'd point it out.

Nice post, really highlights the finer points of the game.

EDIT : Unless you have penta trinkets you wont last 3 hits in FSC. Damn trojans...
