General: Total Recall MMO Coming in 2012

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

See Global Entertainment and ZQGame have announced that it will be releasing a browser-based MMO based on the Total Recall IP. The pair of gaming companies have partnered with Sony Pictures to release the Total Recall MMO worldwide on August 3, 2012.

The Total Recall game will be one of a rare and relatively new breed of full-3D browser-based games capable of rendering console-like graphics, characters and environments without the need for a client download. The game will be free to play with micro-transactions containing a hybrid of features from traditional MMOs and social games, such as PVP and PVE environments and a collaborative "memory quest" system. Total Recall will also leverage a specially designed engine with a technology capable of managing and creating a large scale 3D MMO within a browser platform.

As yet, there is no website but we'll keep you posted as more information becomes available.

As long as it features steampunk midgets throwing down with oversized machineguns, I think we'll have a winner.

Screwwwww, youuuuuu! (my favorite cheesy line in that movie)

That's an IP I wouldn't have expected for an MMO.

Yeah this is what we need. Another mediocre MMO, in an ocean of mediocrity.

If i log on here one day and there's an announcent post of Blade Runner being made as a browser MMO i think it would be /slit wrist time. At the rate they're pumping out the famous IP's cheaply it may not be too far off either :(

You guys realize that Total Recall is about to be finished with its Reboot, right?

    And Schwarzenegger isn't in it.

I would think that this MMORPG will be based on the new movie.  and I'm okay with that because Kate Beckinsale is in it.

If made by  a decent company and into a proper MMO the highlighted one could have had potential to be a bit different. MMO's are mostly land based with a small handful based in space and only one that i can think of on the Ocean.

Wow, it's worse than I could have imagined. You know the genre has jumped the shark when they want to make a Michael Jackson online game.

Waterworld would be an excelent sandbox endeavour if done correctly. ie not a browser game.
