Not to pop your buble, but everyones girlfriends boobs abide to the same boob physics IRL :P. I am not a graphical person so I do not care either way. In fact if this was added I would most likely not even notice or notice only once and be like...huh...owkee.. and then simply not notice it anymore.

From muscular physique to obese (whatever floats your boat), there is muscle movement that could benefit from the same physics as the physics being suggested in the original post.

"Guys don't really wear clothes revealing enough... for it to be a worthwhile application of a physics engine" sounds a lot more like "I'd rather not see my bros go commando and see it in high-def."

The latter part is really true, it's not just me explaining I don't want to see crotch physics.  There's SO many subtle things the body does and... no offense to every other guy out there... (or to women who fantasize otherwise)... the amount of jiggle in a guy's junk is pretty low on the list of 'noticable things the body does' unless you're naked.  If the clothes are too loose, it's concealed, if it's too snug it's... well, keeping things mostly packed away.  They're just not as big as women's breasts (No.  Really.)

Now, I think games could benefit from other noticable things like actual breathing patterns.  Even blinking is more noticable than crotch bulge-shifting physics in general in real life.  Blinking is good.  I wouldn't mind better hair animation too, while we're at it.

... I'd say the Virtua Fighter games do a pretty good job of throwing in subtle, nice animation touches like that.  Flexing muscles WOULD be nice in an MMORPG, but they're not as easy to do, or as obvious in most cases as breasts jiggling.

    Also, female breasts >< penises.

One is a secondary sexual characteristic.  If you really want bulging, jiggling crotches on guys, then the proper equivalent would be really lovingly rendered hi-def cameltoe.  (So yeah, I don't really want either of those.)

My vote is for relatively subtle client-side rendered breast physics.  Enough to let you know 'Hey, these are acting approximately like giant lumps of fat should', but client-side, so it can be turned off, and it puts absolutely no stress on the servers.

... and yeah, it would be nice if you could have a little giant lumps of fat bouncing rendered for obese people too.  Fair is fair.  I'm under the impression it would be a little harder to render, since it's not as focused and constrained as breasts are, but let's reach for the stars!  Wobbly belly fat is the new frontier!

I don't really care how detailed the "physics" are for breast rendering. Like you said, fair is fair so, either way, the same physics should be used for both genders regardless if the male player population wants to see it for not. Most women realize they can work with what they got. That doesn't mean the people attracted to males don't get their eye candy too just because the males themselves don't want to step into a locker room.

As far as I'm concerned, regardless of freedom of motion for either gender and their body parts, there's always motion down there (as I've already said more than once). Everyone realizes movement of such body parts depends on the clothing or armor and the type of material. Snug or not, I'm pretty sure the money from the women or men playing, who want to see jiggling crotches or bulges, should outweight the homophobia or uncomfortableness of men who don't want to display their "junk" in high definition. If they want breasts that move and jiggle like in real life, it only makes sense to apply the same to the opposite gender as to attract more customers.

Voted yes for realistic boob physics, like boobs won't bounce everywhere like water balloons. They are wearing metal armor, not a dress with no bra. Plus to get them so big, they probably got a boob job anyway, they should be firm and steady xD

As for penile physics, how do people even compare boobs and penis........one is a reproductive system, one just.......jiggling ball of fat :P Its like people should get p*ssy physics..........awkward

People who are replying to this thread and actually discuss this scare me. I mean really, are you really discussing breast physics, what is next penis physics?

This is one of those fucked up threads that will have millions of replies isn't it. Why do people never discuss arm physics or leg physics or head phyiscs, lets go for breasts and penises. Fucked up bunch of weirdos you find online.

it does seem indicate a certain lack of familiarity with the subject though, IRL at least.. for some i'd recommend they spend some time outdoors and find girlfriends....  of the none pixel variety...image

Actually the next thing people want to discuss are butt physics because all of the homophobic teenage boys here don't want to face the facts of growing into a man. We've already discussed penile physics since there's obviously a bias in this thread as to what body part should have physics applied to them.

In response to other people saying people shouldn't compare breasts to penises, go suck it. Men have penises, women have breasts, facts of life kiddos. Just because you can't watch straight porn without gagging when seeing the guy doesn't mean MMORPG's shouldn't be fair to both genders. MMORPG's aren't your lesbian porn. ;D

Well I still think you should compare boobs to man's chest, not their penises. And I just realise, did you just created the forum account to talk about boob physics? Now whos the weirdo :P

No matter how many times you're going to call me homophobic (Thanks for the personal attacks by the way), I still maintain that breast jiggle (Especially considering the outfits they stick a lot of the females in in MMORPGs) is far more noticable than crotch jiggle.  Even blinking is far more noticable than crotch jiggle.  BREATHING is more noticable than crotch jiggle.  You can totally watch people's chests rise and fall pretty easily.

Sorry, it just is.  I know some people have these elaborate fantasies where men's crotches are just bouncing around like crazy, practically exploding out of their pants, and the first thing everybody notices when they see a guy is 'Oh my god, did you see the way that guy's package moves?', but... no.  That's not really the way it works.  Anybody who tells you they're so big that everybody's first thought when they enter a room is his crotch physics... is lying.

Sorry to destroy any fantasies about the amazingly huge guys who are so noticable. :(

On a slightly related note, you should probably play Blade & Soul, because the men are as scantily clad as the women at times.  Also, I'm pretty sure there's some crotch bulge going on there.  Also, male nipples.

(I will be the first to argue that more games need to bother to give male avatar choices that are halfway as attractive as the female avatar choices... ... and that if there's a monstrous male, that it's silly to have eyecandy females of the same species... but I just can't bring it in my heart to say that jiggling crotches are the way to sexual equality)

And so? There's still movement everywhere seen on the male body when an adult male jogs, walks, or runs. That includes the crotch area with greater movement depending on what the male is wearing and what kind of material it is.

Rofl that makes no sense at all. If you see movement in the crotch its the fabric of the pants or shorts that moves, not because what it packages. You maybe think it does, but it normally isnt.

Of course there might be men who like to show their package jiggle in their shorts without getting arrested and also tend to have this hobby that involves wearing a raincoat when its not so warm outside.

While boobs on the other hand tend to jiggle even when covered in the strongest sports bra. If they are large enough of course :p

Jiggly crotch animations are to be the main focus of developers. I need at least 76 degrees of sway in there for me to feel comforable.

Maybe some dev already did this secretly as hobby project, but you cant see it because the charactercreator doesnt let you remove the toon's pants :)

For me, it's not about boob physics, it's about consistant physics.   If the animation of a body is moving in a realistic way except for one part, then that part will be noticed as being ...wrong somehow.    So, boob physics should be as realistic as any other part of that particular animation is.

If it doesn't create lag, then I want it. If it creates lag, then I don't want it. Lag sucks.

If jiggling dudes use the same kind of "engine" that they use for breast physics, then it's going to look like every male character just dropped a serious load in their pants.

I'll stop you right there since obviously you're getting defensive over a personal attack you assumed was aimed at you. Please feel free to show me where I said "Meowhead is a homophobe" in my previous posts.

And on that note, anyone else want to speak up in defense of their pride because they're assuming I'm talking to them when I clearly never called anyone specifically a homophobe?

You're kind of slow in the head if you just realized that huh? I just don't see any jiggle in male crotches. A woman with large breasts and a low cut dress, it's like jello.

A guy  jogging, I don't see discernible movement.

I'm not like "ewwww" I'm like, that's not realistic. Or maybe I'm wrong. Post a youtube video or something that shows what you're talking about.

It's much more noticeable in movie CGI, but the point is the same.   Watch a CGI generated human face; the programming can be 99% real-looking but your eyes will quickly be drawn to that 1% that is wrong, maybe it's a curl of the lip, or an eyelash movement.   Like any human, you've spent your life looking at others faces and (at least subconciously) have a very good idea of how they move.

It's not quite as obvious in computer games, becomes most don't try for an ultra-realistic look.     If someone with long hair were running, and their muscles/boobs/body parts were moving appropriately to the action but the hair was still, you'd notice that.   So you'll only tend to notice was seems wrong.

as long as the boobs are big and they jiggle even when you character stands still you can rate it as a top A mmorpg
