Rohan Review

Hey! Where is everybody? This is a fucking good game, and I don't see anyone here. Anyway, I've compiled some stuff about Rohan. I know some of you have asked about details and guides and stuff. I don't have ALL that. You can search Rohan forums on their website for that www.playrohan.com for all that, but here are my 2 cents... actually, it's kinda long, so let's say my 20 cents.

If you're looking for a game with character versatility and battles that will keep your adrenaline pumping, then R.O.H.A.N. Blood Feud is the game for you. From leveling up your unique character, crafting and mini-games, you’ll never run out of things to do. You can customize your character’s build and raise him up as a fighter as unique as your own person. You can build him up and make him stronger through forging or combining armors and weapons or you can craft them yourselves. You may either grind or hunt monsters or you may also take part in R.O.H.A.N.’s rich background story to gain more experience and items.

There are 3 features that are unique in R.O.H.A.N., the monster kill bonus, the exchange market and the vengeance system. For every 20 monsters you kill, an additional experience will be rewarded to your character and each reward will be getting higher until you reach the 100th kill. Through the Exchange Market, you may trade your in-game items, crones and characters to your friends using the R.O.H.A.N. Points (RPs). As for the vengeance system, once you were killed by another player, you may use the vengeance to transport you (and your party) to where your killer is and take vengeance.

This is a Player vs Player (PvP) based game thus it is not for the weak of heart. As soon as you’re level 30 you’re eligible to kill and be killed outside safe zones. When someone kills you in-game well, you can always get your revenge.

There are two servers you can use: Solace (a recently merged server) and Divinity (a new server that just opened in May 2011). Divinity is a fresh start and there are new developments that come with this merge and new beginning. Some features are still a mystery.

Exchange Market

The Exchange Market is unique to R.O.H.A.N. Blood Feud. The usual non-tradable items such as soulstones and characters can now be traded to other players using this market. The great thing about the Exchange Market is that players can earn RPs (Rohan Points) by selling their grinded crones or items to other players. In turn, these RPs can be used to buy from the Item Mall or buy other items from the Exchange Market.

Player vs Player

R.O.H.A.N. Blood Feud is a MMORPG developed by a company known as YNK Interactive. Most noticeable physical feature of the game is its very refined 3D texture which is really of a high quality compared to other free to play MMORPG's. 3D feature is just one of the game's best parts, PVP is another.

There is also a cap or should I say "possibles" to the number of player killings which is 10. The moment you reach 0, the character would be under murderer status. Character name would turn red and will be subjected for attacks by anyone without experiencing penalty status. The only way to undo this is getting your character online for 10 hours without killing anyone, until his name turns white again. Cool huh!?!

The Vengeance System

The PVP system is what makes this game rise above all others. Not like your regular MMORPG PvP system where you just die after you get pawned and never get the chance to fight back, here they have the vengeance system. In this system you have this “hitlist” window, where you get to store 50 encounters with any random players you fought, one's you killed and the others that killed you. The list acts like some sort of a messenger for you can see these people if they are online or not. Best part is you can actually port to the said players (if they are online and should be outside the safe zone) to finish whatever they started which I really find most handy.

Guild System

Guild system is one of R.O.H.A.N.'s features that let you enjoy the game better. Like most MMORPG's out in the market today, these features players from the same location, ethnology, interest or what not to come together and play together. What makes it more interesting is that the guild can do more than just to bring players together. The R.O.H.A.N. guild system also help guild mates (or better know as “guildies”) with leveling and events such as doubling the M.Kill for the guild, Increase crit chance and buffs that add to the Forge and Refine event. This feature also helps in the Township Battle. These skills are all activated by the Guild Master and uses crones and guild stones.

Crafting System

Tired of the weapons, armors and accessories that you are used to in the game? Then the crafting system is a part of your problem's solution. With the crafting and gathering system, you can make new and improved gears by combining materials that you acquire in the game. Weapons and Armors have sockets that help improve their attack and defense ratings and the accessories improve your character's status by a hefty handful. These things are done by "grades" or ranks. The better grade your gear is, the more power you get. And this does not stop there. You can also upgrade these crafted gears for better game pleasure.

Forging and Refining

Are you itching for armors and weapons that will render your character to god-like form? You can do so by forging and refining armors and weapons. Through forging, you could combine armors and weapons into a more advance item. These are rares, uniques and ancients. While combining these items, stats and options will be combined as well. What if the combined item’s required level was way beyond yours? That is where refining comes in. You can remove the stat requirements in the item and you can de-level the item until you’ll be able to equip it in your character. So, when you see a character running past you in high level armors, do not judge too quickly. Strategy has to be applied on both Forging and Refining to avoid maximum loss when items are destroyed when either of the two fails. :)

Forging

-A stronger more dependable weapon/armor can be created using this system anytime. Combination of regular weapons/armor can be turned into a rare, unique or ancient depending on the ingredients you have. You better be good friends with lady luck during this event.

-It's also like a customized system where you can add option stones or accessories with the stats you have that can be added to your weapon or armor of choice.

Refining

-Use a armor/weapon 10 levels higher than you, impossible? Not with the refining system. As long as you have the right amount of crones you can reduce the level of any weapon or armor via any town anytime. And to make it even better, the forging and refining event increases the chances of success in these two processes.

Pets

One of the special features of the game is the Pet System. Each pet has its own special abilities that would help its owner increase their health, movement or attack speed, damage, etc. Pets also increase their level through feeding continuously. Pets have its own kind of food that can be bought from the Pet Merchant and also from other players. When a pet level's up, its abilities increase; giving its owner more benefits. Player may only feed their pet when its timer turns into zero. When hungry pets are not fed, their effects will be disabled and pets will die if starved for more than its duration. Opening the Pet Window would give you information on what your pet's abilities are, times fed, level of the pet, etc. Pets may also be styled on what its owner's preferences. With the latest patch, pets can now be fused; giving its owner a chance to summon one pet with two different pet abilities. There's no level requirement applied when using a pet. A player may only summon one pet at a time but may own any number of pets. Pets would also test its owner's responsibility.

Mini-Games

Another feature of the game that requires a bit of wit and thinking, two mini-games that is introduced only to R.O.H.A.N.: Blood Feud.

Fishing - this mini game requires your patience and how chance smiles on you. You can get premium items, armors and enhancement stones from catching fish. But do not let those squirmy little fish fool you can also be a premium source of "crones" which is in game monetary.

Baccarat - A game of chance, be ready to gamble crones and get more from it. Play with a casino type Baccarat with a friend in game finally get the all the "crones" you want, Ranging from 1,000 crones up to 10,000,000 crones. Remember if you win there is no one that can hold you from leaving the game, and continue with your grinding.

Aside from chatting with your friends, participating in grinding parties (or PK or Player Kill parties) or doing quests, what else can players do while in R.O.H.A.N.? Fishing of course! Weapons and armors that you consider as trash can be made used as bait to be able to catch fishes that may give more premium items such as rare weapons and armors, option stones and skill enhancement stones! Also, fishing will test your hand and eye coordination.

If you prefer the thrill of pushing your luck then the card game Baccarat is for you! It’s a game of chance so be ready to gamble crones and get more from it. Play with a casino type Baccarat with a friend or against the dealer. You may win some crones (in-game money) ranging from 1,000 crones up to 10000000 crones. Remember if you win there is no one that can hold you from leaving the game, and continue with your grinding.

Races and Classes

Here is a break down of all of the races you can select and their respective 2nd degree jobs.

Human:Race ruled by the king that is known of the name Rihit Del Lagos. They are popular for their chivalrous conduct and being well mannered amongst all of the other races.

*Guardian-damage dealers using a dagger and a sword. They could kill fast but does not have the capability to tank mobs.

*Defender - best tanks in the game. Weapon preferences are Mace and Shield.

Elf :Game's best healers. Their town Vena, is under the rule of Queen Rima Regenon.

*Priest- Weapon of choice is staff. They may be the hardest class to go PvP with because of their multiple healing skills. Great supporters and buffers in the game.

*Templar - Can remove your buffs with just one tap. Rumors have it that they can duel and easily kill any race or class in-game.

Half Elf:Active diplomacy between Humans and Elves gave birth to this race. They are the game's range damage dealers. Weapon of choice are Bows and Crossbows.

*Scout - experts in targeting multiple enemies at once. Weapon preference is bow. They deal low-damage to enemies but their multiple and high-speed attacks make up for the loss.

*Rangers - The most agile class in terms of movement speed. The only class that can outrun the strongest, meanest and nastiest bosses in all of the regions of  R.O.H.A.N.. Choice of weapon is crossbow. Their range-attack is slow but can deal a higher and sometimes a critical damage to the enemy.

Dekan: human-fish like creatures that can later evolve into dragons. Not a lot of information is known about this race. They populate in the isolated town of Rev'Deca.

*Dragon Knight- If you are type of the player who is into tanking and having mass HP this Class Build is for you! You are going to have a ton of HP and going to be able to deliver some lethal blows in PvP with Forefoot Swing.

*Dragon Sage - This build will not allow you to deal a whole lot of damage with your weapon as this build have the minimum strength but you will get a large chunk of damage dealing with Health Drain and Breathe as they are intelligence based.

Dhan:They dwell in the northern part of the continent, at the town of Par'talucca, capital of East Bahran Island. Though similar to humans, Dhans are less outgoing, and more the kind to watch from the shadows. Their main skills involve use of agility, and dexterity, as they tend to be assassins. Though their attack is not the greatest, they stun their enemies with rapid swift blows. Another great advantage of being a Dhan is that they have the stealth ability. This allows one to hide from beasts at least 5 levels above their own. Dhans can acquire experience by killing other players rather than completing quests if they choose.

*Avenger -Can disappear before your eyes and dismember opponents without warning. By the time you see them, your eyes may no longer be connected to your face.

*Predator - High-speed Melee attackers and also specializes in different kinds of traps to render opponents unable to fight.

Dark Elf:Are the wise and powerful sorcerer in all of Roha. Resides at the far volcanic mountains of Ignis, Dark Elves are well known to be one of the noble races. Dark Elves are well known for their magic attacks either strong focused damage or an area of effect damage.

*Wizard - Are the Mages class casters that are bound for massive area damage. They are well known for their effective and powerful attacks that can deal damage in a certain large area. Unlike the warlocks, wizards are effective in a party for hunting bosses, grinding to gain level and also farming. If you're into massive area onslaught, this is the job for you.

*Warlock-Are the Dark Elves powerful sorcerers that are well known for their destructive focused skills. With their ability to weaken and absorb it's enemies abilities, warlocks are one of the powerful casters that should not be taken lightly.

Giant:Newest race in the game. It is ruled by the King of Draht known as Rhett Travarre.

*Berserker - Specialize in handling the two handed weapon Polearm. Is the best giant class in terms of PvP.

*Savage- weapon of choice is dual swords. Best class in pve. If you wanted to go for a player killing spree, I suggest you go for berserker. Believe me this class will only give you a lot of headache and will eventually lead to migraine if you insist doing PvP.

Skills

A vast number of skill on R.O.H.A.N. can give you a satisfying result whether you go PVE or PVP. Different combos of skills from different class give you the feeling that is both fulfilled and enjoyed. The combination of skills that each class has make it more versatile, whether your alone or its a party, only you will know the difference.

Township Battles

Township Battle (also know as TSB) is R.O.H.A.N.'s style for battle of territory. This happens during most days of the week. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are for the Minor Township Battle. Major Township Battles, where the winning guilds get the Champion’s Uniform to boast their Guild pride and more importantly, ownership of different towns. When your guild owns a territory, you would be getting a part of the players’ NPC transactions as taxes. NPC’s from your territory would be displaying your guild name and emblem, and also the tax rate that you set (4% being the least, 20% being the max).  Not to mention the unlimited bragging rights.

How does this TSB go? Once you have registered your guild entry for a particular Township Battle, you go to a Township Battlefield Gatekeeper. Once you enter, you find the pieces that can be broken. The goal of this is to get as much points as you can during the 2 hour time limit. Should you succeed in getting a territory and think that this is the end of your problems, think again! Other guilds together with their allies would bring up a battle to claim your lands. Be strong and be prepared to protect your property.

Prestige System

This system was introduced together with the opening of the new server, Divinity, and is in effect in both severs. Players can battle at any time to earn Prestige Points. Players collect prestige points by accumulating kills and deaths, and that raises them in the ranks. By the end of each season, the top 10 players are announced and declared winners. The cool part is that you can be inducted into the R.O.H.A.N Hall of Fame by being the best PVP player in all the lands each season. Lots of QQ'ers because they can't hang with being killed, but hello!!!! It's a PvP game! Play at your own risk and enjoy!!!

Nice add, unfortunately it doesn't make the grind any less boring...

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

I disagree about the grind. As long as you do it in parties, it's fun. Rohan is no solitary game... trust me, I've tried going that route ... parties are best.

You've havent played long enough to know about grind...Once you hit the level 50 mark its a super long haul. You're almost tempted to buy the experience scrolls with real money. I've done 8 straight hours on one day just to gain 5% experience. You dont know anything about grind yet. If you think thats bad, wait till you reach the level 70's.

There was only one thing I liked about Rohan. The crafting system is great because you can mix and match what stats you want for weapons.

PvP is flawed! When the assassin is maxxed out on evasion you'll be lucky enough to get a hit in. So basically all you need to know is either stack evasion or accuracy depending on your peference.

BTW you're a few years late. It used to be packed with people until YNK started making some changes. It was a good game while it lasted. But once you realized the grind you're in for a good workout.
