Developer Information Week 14-18 March

Dear Earthrise Players,

We are happy to announce that this week our team is working on a new client patch, which is expected to be released on 17th of March (Thursday). Here is the list of what our team is working on. Please keep in mind that some of the tasks will not make it for this weeks patch and will be seen in the next one:

- Many graphical options – players will be able to chose many graphical options to optimize their client fps

- Invert mouse functionality

- Swap mouse buttons

- Autostacking – yes, the feature that all of you are waiting for anxiously is under development

- Bank sorting – another feature that all of you would like to see in Earthrise

- Jumping will cost stamina

- Alt+F4 Fix - We are aware that Alt+F4 is an issue. We have to consider different technical issues to solve the problem. We cannot stop the client from disconnecting because the client can be disconnected in multiple ways even by pulling out the power plug, so it is not just the Alt+F4 problem. Our server architecture is distributed and we want to allow smooth reconnection of the player if he is reconnecting to a different server before his first avatar is waiting for disconnection. We don’t want to penalize people who are correctly using the quit command, which basically means that they should not wait for longer period of time than 30 seconds. Having all this in mind we have tested multiple scenarios and we are implementing a fix which we hope will be ready for the patch. If we discover further border cases or issues, the fix will be delayed for the patch after this one.

- New Invenotry icons – the inventory icons will be easier to sort and organize with their new look

- Changes of the launcher mechanics – we are still working on those and cannot give more details at the moment, but our task is to make the launcher a more balanced weapon

- Tech Collective mob – This elusive creature is causing a lot of pain to all you crafters who like to work in the Tech Collective base. Our task is to catch it and make him behave and not attack the poor crafters.

- Most interactions, especially the ones that provide Cadet and Recruit gear will be upgraded to add the corresponding gear with the first click.

- Our writer team will work towards adding the new quests in the Autonomy. The players will be able to earn their name amongst the outlaws that inhabit the Nest and its surroundings and climb a bit the steep hierarchy of the Syndicate.

- A non-critical issue with the names of the interactive objects in the world has appeared. It seems that the players can see their ident names instead of their in-game names. Even that it breaks nothing and is a cosmetic detail, it will be fixed ASAP

Please keep in mind that the best possible case is that all those fixes will be seen in this week patch. There is however a likely possibility that some of the problems may require a longer time to fix than we anticipate and will be addressed in the patch after this one.

We no longer want to make you wait too long for each new patch and will try to exercise a policy with more frequent patches.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Well I'm pretty excited! :)
