Upgrading from old trial

Hello, hopefully someone can help me.  I played a 14 day free trial of fallen earth 6 or 7 months ago and the game is still installed on my computer.  I just bought the game on steam since it was 66 percent off.  Do i have to uninstall and install using steam with a new account?  Steam did not give me a code to upgrade on fallen earth's website.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
