^^This. Its been said for several years now and people still insist that "games are for kids". Im 46 and I game frequently. I find it a relaxing diversion from the responsibilities of my ADULT life (mortgages, careers, relationships, etc.) When I was 16 I sure as hell wasnt sitting in front of a computer for 15 hours a week. I cant figure out why such young people game so much.
Anyway to the OP: If you feel you are missing out on life...you are. Thats all it takes. So move on from this until you feel more balanced. Good luck.
