Game That lets you own land for a farm or town

What games let you own and develop land other than UO. I would like to be able to develop and protect my own territory.

 

Anything like that out there?

    MMORPG? No idea. In LOTRO you can grow your own pipe weed.

    A buddy of mine plays Wurm Online... terra forming...farming...etc.  Its not a high end deal, but its all about building and protecting your stuff, because people will take it from you.

    Solo? No idea. But as a guild:

    Eve has player owned stations. Darkfall has a much more primitive system where you own hamlets and towns. Earthrise will have guild bases.
