What is your problem? Sieges

So.. I seem to be missing something here.  There are 9.  COUNT THEM, 9 battlekeeps.  If two guilds try to siege a battlekeep, the guild with the higher PvP rank will get priority.  And??  So?  Go to the next keep.  You will never, ever, be locked out of every single keep raid.  If that happens, go the next day.  Try another keep.  Go try and take the smaller towers and such.

There are two seperate topics about the same thing, about 6 pages long.. of people pissing and moaning about something that probably won't even effect them in the first place.  Stop crying and try it out first.  If indeed you get locked out of every single keep siege, then complain.  Until then, stop wasting time crying.. it doesn't help.

    Sounds like your making alot of assumptions there. Who said keeps would be attackable every day? How do you know how many guilds will be attacking each keep you don't even know how many players a server will hold. I think your doing the same thing your being critical of other people for doing in basing you opinion on speculation.

    Just buy the game and try it out it what the strategy seems to be over there at FC. People are tired of buying shitty games based on hype which I think is why people are being a bit more cynical about the lack of information about this game.

    The OP is right though. Assumptions or no. Theres 9 BK's on a server, 3 per region. Each BK is open to attack once a week for a 12 odd hour period. Let me post the direct quote, as many have been misquoting it.

    "Funcom has implemented a priority structure. Whichever guild has members that fare better in the PvP minigames gets priority when determining who gets to lead a siege assault."

    Note it says 'whichever guild has MEMBERS that fare better in the PvP minigames.' That doesn't mean entire guilds have PvP ratings everyone needs to spend time in the BK's grinding up their 'rating.' It means which ever guild has a member with the highest rating, that guild gets priority.

    Note the highest 'rating' doesn't mean something you need to grind up. This isn't Honor were talking about. It's which ever guild has a member that kicks the most ass and is higher in the charts with likely a death/kill ratio. You cant grind that like you can Honor. If your guild sucks at PvP, they aren't gonna be able to spend 10 hours a day to put them to the top, cause they'll still suck.

    Also note that not just every guild and their mama is gonna be fighting for BK's. It takes a very large guild, with the biggest possible player city. It takes tuns of money (to hire Mercs for one,) tuns of resources and time and planning. You cant take down a keep and then just grind out the money and resources to build it afterword. You need to be ready to start building asap.

    On top of that,many MANY folks have completely misquoted the line, most often with this;

    "Funcom has implemented a priority structure. Whichever guild has the highest rating in the PvP minigames gets priority when determining who gets to lead a siege assault"

    the details of which are completely different.

    Mind though that means a guild with a lower priority will never get to attempt to take a keep. BK's will be open to attack likely 12 odd hours in a 24 hour day, once a week. If one other guild wants to try and take that BK, and you don't get first crack, it doesn't mean you cant try for it ever. Each attack on a BK has a 2 hour window to take the structure. If they don't do it, the next in line gets a crack. And mind it takes a lot of man power, hours of preparation and tuns of resources. You want to start building immediately, so not just every guild will be able to take a BK.

    So it's not remotely as big a deal as people are making of it.

    This is exactly what I'm talking about, you just said it better than me.  There are nine keeps, there are also nine owners.  Unless I'm wrong, I thought you can only hold one keep at a time.  So, if there are nine defenders.. that automatically rules those guilds out of the attack plan.  Guilds can't siege their own keep.  How many guilds do you guys think will actually have the manpower and resources to execute a successful siege?  It's not like there are going to be 100,000 people on each server and 40 guilds of 500 people.  I don't like to assume things, but technology does have a limit.

    Like the quoted poster said, you have a two hour limit to capture the keep.  If the window is once a week for half a day, that means 6 guilds can try one keep, which means during the week.. there are going to be 84 hours of siege and 42 separate sieges.  It wouldn't be FC's fault if you can't manage to get in the first 42 spots.

    Guilds can only hold a single Battle Keep. But they CAN attack another, they just cant take it for their own. But I'd say considering the difficulty in taking, let alone holding a BK for more then a week, it'd be rather unwise to put all your resources into destroying other Keeps and more into building up your own defenses. :)
